Huff Post op-ed: Deputy PM marks Mental Health Awareness Week

The Deputy Prime Minister is featured in the HuffPost marking Mental Health Awareness Week (12 – 18 May 2025) by the Mental Health Foundation.

This year’s campaign focuses on the theme of ‘community’ and how it plays an important role in improving our mental wellbeing.

Speaking in the Huff Post, the Deputy Prime Minister said:

"Having decent pay, a stable home and a strong sense of community are essential for our wellbeing and sense of purpose, but far too often they aren’t there when we need them.

“Mental Health Awareness Week is a powerful reminder of this. This year’s theme of ‘Community’ says it all: it’s about our need for stability, and a sense of belonging in a supportive home and working environment.

“And that means certainty about the roof over your head at night, the job you set off to in the morning, the money in your pocket at the end of the week, and your rights, should you fall ill.”
